DJ101

Guaranteed one-to-one sessions

Perfect for those who want results – fast. The DJ101 two-day course suits both beginners and more advanced DJs alike, as its one-to-one structure allows us to concentrate fully on the individual needs of the student.

Course content

You will practice on the industry-standard Technics SL1200, learn about different mixing techniques, get essential technical knowledge and troubleshooting tips, and experience a few of the things you can use to spice up a DJ-act including samples, CD mixing and using laptops on stage.

Of course, as this is a one-to-one course you'll also be able to concentrate on specific areas you feel need brushing up on – getting invaluable advice from a professional DJ.

Where next?

Once you've completed the DJ101 course, you should possess the technical skills to start creating mix CDs and approach club promoters for gigs. While we cannot guarantee you a job (in the end it's going to be your talent and musical taste that makes the difference), we're often approached by promoters looking for DJs and we can also offer practical advice that will help you turn DJing in to a full-time job.

When you feel ready to make the transition between playing records and making your own tracks, you can progress on to remixing and production with our short courses in Ableton Live and gain extra credits to qualify for the DJ Remixer Certificate.
