Digital DJ Course

DJ109

Part-time evening course with unlimited practice time

The DJ109 course uses Serato Scratch, Virtual DJ and Native Instruments Traktor to demonstrate how the traditional mixing techniques can be extended to incorporate additional creative elements, without abandoning the hands-on control and interface that are normally associated with DJing.

This is the ideal continuation of the DJ108 Club DJ course, butit is possible to start directly from the DJ109 if you are not interested in learning beat-matching, or if you are already familiar with this technique.

Course content

You will get an overview of the software available on the market, comparing advantages and disadvantages of each solution, then proceeding to use special time-coded vinyl and compact-discs to control the playback of files from a computer. Once the traditional way of mixing is recreated (with the sole improvement of having a single laptop instead of thousands of records to carry with you), you will start exploring the creative possibilities granted by the use of software: looping techniques, effects, anything that can help you create a truly original set.
