LSS Newsletter Issue #00 - December 2006  |  Stop Receiving This Newsletter

Welcome!

…to the London School of Sound's first newsletter, dedicated to bringing you all the lateset news and events from the UK's most respected music technology college. We'll kick-off in full next year (hence this issue's number, #00), but just thought we'd give you a taster of what's in store for subscribers.

We'll also bring you details on internship opportunities, as well as tutorials and useful links to keep your surfing time occupied. Feedback is always appreciated, so if there's anything you'd like to see more – or less – of, drop us an email at info@londonschoolofsound.co.uk

New Courses

Ableton Live 6 + Xone 3D training

Live is the must-have software of the moment, and to celebrate the arrival of version 6 we've joined forces with Allen & Heath to launch a new three-day intensive course. Students will get the chance to be trained on the Xone 3D which is just about the best Live controller we have ever tried, and an awesome DJ mixer in its own right. The course will launch officially on January 27th and we expect to have a new class every month.

Masterclass: Mixing with Logic Pro

The cost of running a studio has gone from millions to…a computer and a software package! So when demos come out sounding like, well, bad demos, the question is why? With
this one-day Masterclass, we'll aim to answer this question
by taking you through a typical professional mixing session from start to finish. The date for this event will be confirmed in January, look out for the next newsletter or get in touch to register your interest and reserve a place.

LSS News

New-look website

Our website has not changed much in the last few months, but that's because a completely new design has been in the works all this time. As well as containing more information and being easier to navigate, there'll also be an exclusive Members Area with sounds, samples, tutorials and advice. We’d also like to help you get the word out about your musical projects, so start sending in any Myspace links and we'll post them on our site. Look out fot the new website from January 2007!

Out with the old…

LSS is working with Jump Studios and Deconomix to design a classroom that won't feel like, er... being back at school. It will be ready to use in January and will be the ultimate in cool and comfort. We'd like to say more but it's all kind of secret, more details will be on January's newsletter.

Tutorial

If you own Kontakt, Sampletank or any other software instrument capable of 16 parts multitimbrality, you might have been wondering how to access all these channels in Logic. Here is a step by step tutorial for you to download in pdf format.
