LSS Newsletter Issue #01 - January 2007

Welcome!

…to the (slightly late) LSS newsletter for January, and a belated happy 2007 to all our subscribers. Now that you’ve had a chance to blow away the cobwebs of any festive hangovers, it’s time to crack on with those New Year’s resolutions – and for the musically minded we’ve got plenty to get you started! Remember, if there's anything you'd like to see more – or less – of, drop us an email at info@londonschoolofsound.co.uk

New Courses

Mixing Masterclass – new date added

Not surprisingly, our one-day Mixing Masterclass on 24 February proved overwhelmingly popular and sold out pretty much as soon as it was announced! Of course, we realise that some subscribers may have missed out due to the lateness of this newsletter, so we've managed to talk Matt Foster into doing an additional Masterclass on Sunday 25 February. The price of the session remains £80 (£50 for ex-students) and more details can be found here. If you want to take part, get in touch soon as we expect places to go quickly.

Ableton Live 6 with Xone:3D training

Now that we've finally completed our new state-of-the art Soundwave classroom (see below), we've got a suitably high-tech home to show off our new toys – Allen & Heath's awesome DJ mixer and controller, the Xone:3D, and Korg's ultra-cool new Kaoss pad KP3.

The Xone:3D will get its first taste of action during our
brand-new three-day intensive Ableton Live 6 course. Students will get the chance to enjoy hands-on training on the Xone:3D, while mastering the must-have software of the moment and winner of the 2007 Remix Technology Award for Best Digital Audio Workstation.

The course will launch officially on January 27th, and we expect to run a new class every month.

Soundwave classroom unveiled

Following months of development based on feedback from students and teachers, the new Soundwave classroom has become a reality. Starting life as a desire to break free from the conventional division between class and laboratory, the Soundwave blends the two together for a truly interactive 21st century learning experience.

The new space will be in use 12 hours a day to offer LSS’s unique Music Production, Reason, Ableton Live and Apple-certified Logic courses, as well as providing an unrivalled environment to experience life from a DJ’s perspective.

For a guided tour of the Soundwave class and studio
facilities, email info@londonschoolofsound.co.uk or
