LSS newsletter #24 – July 2009

A quick update for July, while we enjoy the air conditioning in the Studio :)

1) We have discovered a great little place near the school called Sequence. We will be there playing a few records Wednesday evening (at about 8pm). It's not an official party and we are not expecting crowds, it's just a nice place to relax and play music.
Anyone who wants to play records or CDs is welcome to come, just bring your own music; we aim to be there at 8pm and play for a little bit.

2) As the school keeps growing we are starting to loose track of all the good people we know: social networking is now a necessity more than a way to kill time.
Did you know that we have a Facebook profile? Come and join us, stay in touch and let us know what you are doing now.

3) Speaking of the good people we know, do you want to see a really nice 'home studio'?

4) Speaking of studios, our new control room in Clapham Common should be ready to test for sound-proofing at the end of the week. But apparently the thick glass we need between control room and vocal booth will take four weeks to arrive.
Check the progress of the studio on our blog using the tag Studio-Design: it will be updated often.

5) Also in Clapham Common we will be doing some redecoration: anyone interested in painting walls? It's very good for unwinding apparently. If you want to help get in touch with Frank at info@londonschoolofsound.co.uk – don't reply to this email directly because it would just get lost. Volunteers? Anyone? Well it was worth a shot.

Not much else to say, a couple of places left for the Summer courses in August (speak to Frank if interested in last minute deals) and we hope you are having a good time, wherever you are.
