Sound Engineering Summer Camp

In-person learning with fun immersive sessions, where theoretical knowledge is gained through practical experience.

  • Microphones and microphone placement
  • Technical setups for music production / streaming / podcasts
  • Compression and other dynamic processing
  • Mixing and mastering
  • Bonus content: copyright for creators
  • Bonus content: music business 101

Course Schedule

The full course consists of ten sessions over two weeks, averaging four hours per day. This will leave you plenty of time to enjoy Brighton with its vibrant music scene, the beach and many attractions.
Saturday and Sunday are free so you can plan longer excursions to London (only one hour by train) or other locations.

One-Week Option

A 'lite' version of this course is also available, consisting of just the first half of the course, still delivering the most essential life-long knowledge for anyone interested in working with sound and music. If you are unable to commit to the full course, choose the 'foundations - one week' option when booking your place.

Who is This For

  • Anyone interested in preparing for a music-related degree course.
  • Musicians and producers looking for a fast and effective way to fill gaps in their knowledge (particularly when it comes to audio engineering).
  • Students of other courses looking to widen their curriculum.
  • Non-musical content creators who care about audio quality and using music in their work.
  • Video makers, voice actors, editors, aspiring sound engineers.

No computer needed

You do not need to invest in a new computer and software to attend this course. In fact, it may be a good idea to hold off any significant purchase until you have gained a better understanding of what will be the best value for money for your particular situation, taking advantage of the impartial advice you can get from experienced mentors.

With that said, if you already have a laptop you are more than welcome to bring it along. This will help for note-taking and will also come handy if you feel inspired to practice and create new music in the free time you have between sessions and going to the beach.
